Electron energy loss spectrum analysis
The relativistic scattering based core-loss EELS theoretical framework was validated for hBN by detailed comparison between theoretical calculations and experimental analysis. A novel analysis strategy for experimental data was introduced to calculate relative π and σ peak intensities showing good theoretical agreement. High correlation between experimentally calculated and theoretically predicted tilt-variation of B-K edge was observed. Based on this, a novel technique for topological characterization of hBN nano-structures was introduced.
